Popping The Question

Hello Again,

Guys you know that moment when you feel that you are ready to tie the knot with your girlfriend? You start getting the butterflies, your heart jumps every time you are around her, you can't help but smile when she enters a room, you always are by her side no matter where your at. Well these are feelings that might help push you to propose. However, here is a list of Do's and Don'ts when proposing:

  • Go somewhere romantic and  make it special. Make it a day that you will never forget and make sure she wont forget it either. If it's the right time and the right setting then you will win her heart over and over again.
  • Don't embarrass her or make her feel unimportant. A football game, a concert, a movie theater are not good ideas for places to propose. These can be great openers before taking her out or after you propose, but not the best idea for the romantic moment.
  • Make sure that you have someone taking photos, whether it is her parents, your parents, or a friend make sure they capture the moment so that the two of you can get it framed. Also it will help with future stories down the road.
  • Make sure you ask her dad. He is the most important person in her life besides you. He was her first love and will always be her first love, but just because she gave her heart to you, doesn't mean that you can ignore the dad. He needs to be able to give his daughter away, and he might also have some of that fatherly advice that will help you out with his daughter since he knows her the best. Also make sure your parents know that you are going to pop the question. Sometimes its good to get an opinion from them on how and where to do it.
  • Don't Forget the ring... the ring is the most important part it is the symbol with which you are committing yourself to her. You can always get a semi- precious stone and then get her a diamond studded band for the wedding day. Semi- precious stones can be very beautiful and can mean more to her than a small diamond ring. Also if she loves vintage and old- fashioned go to an antique store or a pawn shop and purchase something similar and you can always find something cheaper there.
  • Breath Check: if your proposing make sure you look good and smell good. If you need to pop a mint into your mouth before you propose. As I like to say, "A good smelling man will go a long way in life" and this is so true, if you smell good then your girlfriend will always be happy. Don't be afraid to be daring with your clothing choices, have her help you choose a style or a color that she thinks will look good on you or have your mom or sister help you with this.
I hope this little tips help you know the steps that you should follow as you are thinking an considering proposing to the girl of your dreams.

XOXO
